1. Overview

The 2P2405 is a newly launched digital stepper motor driver from our company, featuring the latest 32-bit DSP digital processing technology. Its control algorithm incorporates advanced current regulation and frequency conversion technologies, ensuring minimal heat generation, reduced motor vibration, and smooth operation. Users can set any subdivision value between 200-51200 and any current value within the rated current range, meeting the application requirements of most scenarios. Thanks to built-in micro-subdivision technology, it achieves high subdivision performance even at low settings, maintaining stable operation across low, medium, and high speeds with ultra-low noise. The driver integrates an automatic parameter calibration function during power-on, dynamically generating optimal operating parameters for different motors to maximize their performance.

4. Enhance heat dissipation methods

1) The drive unit operates reliably at temperatures below 60°C, while the motor can function within 80°C.

2) We recommend using the automatic half-flow mode, where the motor's current is automatically halved when it stops to reduce heat generation in both the motor and driver.

3) When installing the drive, position it vertically with the side facing outward to maximize airflow through the cooling fins. If necessary, install a fan near the drive to enhance forced cooling, ensuring it operates within the recommended temperature range.

 

3. Introduction to Drive Interface and Wiring

1.Interface Description

Pulse signal: The rising edge is valid; the high level of PUL ranges from 4.5 to 28Vdc, and the low level ranges from 0 to 0.5V. To ensure reliable response to the pulse signal, the pulse width should exceed 1.5μs.

PUL1-/PUL2-

DIR1+/DIR2+

Directional signal: A high/low level signal. To ensure reliable motor commutation, the directional signal must be established at least 2μs before the pulse signal. The motor's initial running direction depends on its wiring configuration. Reversing any phase winding (e.g., swapping A+ and A-) can change the motor's initial direction. The DIR signal has a high level of 4.528Vdc and a low level of 00.5V.

DIR1-/DIR2-

ENA1+/ENA2+

Enabling signal: This input signal controls activation or deactivation. When ENA+ is connected to 4.5-28Vdc and ENA-to a low level (or when the internal optocoupler is active), the driver cuts off current to all motor phases, leaving the motor idle and preventing step pulses from being detected. To disable this function, simply leave the enabling signal terminal unconnected.

3. Parameter self-tuning function

The drive automatically completes self-tuning of motor parameters and internal adjustment parameters within 200ms after power-on. When conditions such as motor or supply voltage change, perform a self-tuning cycle; otherwise, the motor may operate abnormally. Note: Do not input pulses or alter direction signals during this process.
